International and Industry Action
Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords has four original songs in the Disney film "The Muppets," which features special appearances by Feist, Joanna Newsom and Nathan Pacheco; and he is also the film's music supervisor. Street Chant are heading back to the USA for CMJ in New York and then on tour with The Lemonheads on the West Coast. Composer Professor John Psathas will give an insight into his creative process with a free public lecture at Wellington’s Victoria University next Tuesday 18 October.

New release fanfare
With a staggering 55,952 digital downloads for the critically acclaimed and Album Of The Year nominated standard album already under his belt, David Dallas plans to create a unique live destination experience for the release of The Rose Tint Deluxe Edition throughout November (details will be revealed in the coming weeks). Cobra Khan is back and proud to announce the imminent release of new album ‘Adversities’ on November 21. 
Since the Topp Twins returned from the States in May, they've had a busy winter on the corporate circuit and also enjoyed performing with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra again at the Civic Theatre, and the Central Hawkes Bay Festival. With a mere month until the release of their eponymous debut, Auckland three piece god bows to math look to whet the appetites of many this week as "Slow Decline", the first single from the album, is released through iTunes, Amplifier and digiRAMA.

On the live front
Tickets are now on sale for the Flying Nun Record’s 30th Anniversary shows in November, with even more acts added to the already impressive line-up of past and present acts from the label. Bachelorette is performing her last NZ show, with special guest Jasmina Maschina (Berlin) this Sunday October 16. It's an early start -  4pm - at Auckland's Galatos. Auckland's Carolina Moon is set to tour this October/November/December, bringing fiery ancient melodies from her third recently released Mother Tongue CD to life in a moving musical journey that fuses cultures from the past and the present. This Saturday night at Black and White Bar, 324 K’Rd, Auckland's Fou Nature plays live with DJ Ron and special guests - put it in your diary if you need a date night or a night of good old fashioned dancing, with old and new school sounds. Tourettes is one of the artists playing at music website www.cheeseontoast.co.nz's Halloween Party, spreading across two Auckland venues at the end of the month. A new family focused festival will make its debut in the New Year - the Bloom Family Festival brings three days of music and festivities at the Matakana Country Park.
