Jazz student turned bedroom producer Miles McDougall (Tiger Tones) is Pikachunes, Lil'Chief's newest signing. There's something charming about a scrawny white guy occupying a stage with nothing more than his drum-machine and laptop, but Pikachunes more than compensates for his physical presence with the grooving hypnotism of his music and in-between song charismatics; and like all Lil'Chief releases, a strong pop sensibility remains. Carthaginian are an Auckland based four piece indie rock/post‐hardcore band whose debut full length album Crosses was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York - credits to West West Side's name include Converge, Trans Am and Mastodon as well as Locust, LCD Soundsystem and Run DMC. They have a release show this Friday at Casete in Auckland and have recently played in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland. Cheeky chaps Hogsnort Rupert formed in 1968 as Hogsnort Rupert's Original Flagon Band and in 1969 they were discovered by recording engineer Frank Douglas, signed a 5-year deal with EMI Records, shortened their name to Hogsnort Rupert and a string of hits followed…A Touch Of Hoggers is a selection of recordings from the past 40 years, spanning five decades featuring all their hits including New Zealand's biggest selling hit of 1970 ‘Pretty Girl', ‘Life Begins At 40'and ‘Auntie Alice'to name but a few.
